We do not accept aggressive or dangerous dogs. We do not allow aggressive play, excessive barking, or dominant behavior. We understand that many dogs may be over-excited on their first day, and we will work with your dog to teach he or she our rules. If your dog has a history of dog to dog or food aggression, please do not have them attempt to be at our facility for the safety of your dog and others.
If your dog is a fence jumper, they are not a good fit for our outside free roaming area. Our fenced area is 4 feet tall, therefore, if your dog can jump higher than that, we recommend not bringing them to our facility for safety reasons.
We provide everything your dog needs to be comfortable in the cabin. If you feel you would like to bring your dog’s own bed, treats, or toys please feel free to do so.
We do ask that you bring your dog’s specific food to avoid any stomach issues while you are gone. Please bring the food in a container labeled with your dog’s name and feeding instructions.
We are also able to administer most medications throughout the day and do not charge extra for this. Medication must be prepackaged in either a pill container or baggy for each day with clear instructions on times and dosage of administration.
We request that your dog come to us with a leash, a well-fitted collar or harness, and ID tags. This will enable us to easily bring your dog in and out of the fenced area and cabin.
Dogs with contagious illnesses or parasites are not allowed at Tender Tails Lodge. We are happy to provide care for injured dogs or those with special medical or health needs when applicable, but for the safety and health of others, we cannot accommodate dogs with contagious diseases or parasites.
Common illnesses and parasites include but are not limited to: Bordetella (kennel cough), conjunctivitis, and intestinal parasites/worms. Symptoms of illness can include coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, discharge from the eyes, nose, mouth, and/or visible parasites in the stool.
If a dog shows signs of illness while in our care, we will isolate them from the other dogs and the owner will be asked to take him to the vet for a checkup.
All dogs must be current on the following vaccinations DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies. Canine influenza is an optional vaccination per your vet’s recommendation. Proof from vet required.
Your dog MUST be spayed or neutered to attend. If health reasons have restricted your dog from this procedure, he/she may be considered if proof of veterinary records are provided that indicates the reasoning why spay/neuter is not recommended.
Please print the forms below and complete prior to your dog staying with us.
